I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
    
Empty or loaded containers may be removed from Carrier
designated CY or Rail Yard/Ramp by the Shipper or his agent
for loading and by the Consignee or his agent for
unloading, SUBJECT to the following provisions:
     
a. Except when COL equipment is provided, Shipper,
   Consignee or their agent, MUST execute the underlying
   VOCC's standard Equipment Interchange Agreement and
   receipt at the time of interchange.
    
b. All Equipment Detention Charges incurred by Shipper,
   Consignee or their Agent while container is in their
   possession will be for the account of the party
   incurring such charges.
     
c. Containers MUST be returned by the Shipper, Consignee or
   his Agent to the CY or Rail Yard/Ramp from which they
   were removed unless Carrier instructs or agrees that
   container is to be returned to another location.
   Containers may ONLY be interchanged during regular
   working hours, unless prior arrangements have been made
   for interchange at other times.
     
d. Carrier will accept return tender of Shipper loaded and
   sealed containers at CY or Rail Yard/Ramp SUBJECT to the
   provisions of Rule 2.23 below and B/Ls issued to
   cover such containers MUST be claused "Shipper Load,
   Stow and Count."
      
II. FREE TIME AND DETENTION ON COL EQUIPMENT
    
Shippers, Consignees or their agents will be allowed the
Free Time specified herein to pickup, load or unload and
return COL containers to Carrier, after which time any
applicable Equipment Detention/Demurrage Charges specified
will be assessed, which charge shall be in addition to all
other applicable charges.
     
FREE TIME - 
I. On Equipment Picked up from or Delivered to Carrier's CY
   or RR:
     
a. Shippers, or their agents, will be accorded the Free
   Time specified below to remove an empty container from
   Carrier's Container Yard or Rail Ramp and to return such
   container, loaded, sealed and ready to commence
   transportation, to the same Container Yard or Rail Ramp
   from which it was removed (unless otherwise authorized
   by Carrier).  Free Time commences at 12:01 AM on the
   first working day (See Rule 28 - Definitions) after
   Shipper has been notified that empty container is
   available pickup and expires at 12:00 midnight on the
   last day of Free Time.  
     
   Free Time Shall Be:
     
   i. On Tank Container Equipment, EAN -

  ii. Temperature Controlled Tank Container Equipment -
          . . . . . . . . . . 3 (three) calendar days
     
b. Consignees, or their agents, will be accorded the Free
   Time specified below to pickup a loaded container from
   Carrier's Container Yard or Rail Ramp and to return such
   container, unloaded, clean and empty, to the same
   Container Yard or Rail Ramp from which is was removed
   (unless otherwise authorized by Carrier).  Free Time
   commences at 12:01 AM on the first working day after
   Consignee has been notified that the loaded container is
   available for pickup and expires at 12:00 midnight on
   the last day of Free Time.
     
   Free Time Shall Be:
     
   i. On Tank Container Equipment, EAN -

II. On Equipment provided for pickup at Shipper's Door or
    delivered to Consignees Door:
   
a. Shippers, or their agents, will be accorded the Free
   Time specified below to load and seal an empty container
   provided at Shipper's Door and to notify Carrier that
   container is ready to commence transportation.  Free
   Time commences at 12:01 AM on the first working day (See
   Rule 28 - Definitions) after empty container has been 
   delivered to Shipper's Door and expires at 12:00
   midnight on the last day of Free Time.  
     
   Free Time Shall Be:
     
   i. On Tank Container Equipment, EAN -

b. Consignees, or their agents, will be accorded the Free
   Time specified below to unload and clean a loaded
   container delivered to Consignee's Door and to return
   the empty Container to Carrier specified point or when
   applicable to notify Carrier that empty Container is
   ready for pickup.  Free Time commences at 12:01 AM on
   the first working day after container has been delivered
   to Consignee Door and expires at 12:00 midnight on the
   last day of Free Time.
     
   Free Time Shall Be:
     
   i. On Tank Container Equipment, EAN -

DETENTION CHARGES - 
After the expiration of Free Time as specified above, the
Equipment Detention Charges specified below will be
assessed.  Equipment Detention Charges apply per calendar
day or fraction thereof, INCLUDING Saturdays, Sundays and
Legal Holidays.
