RULE: 2.8 - DOCF - COMMODITY DESCRIPTIONS & DOC/PREP HANDLING CHARGES Eff: 01AUG2024

Except as otherwise provided on individual Web Rate Pages, Shipper MUST
furnish, or arrange for, the preparation of, all documentation and
information required to export cargo from country of origin, to import
cargo into country of destination, and to transport cargo through other
countries between origin and destination.  In addition to all
documentation, Shipper MUST describe cargo in sufficient detail to permit
Carrier to rate cargo, and MUST at a minimum comply with the following:
  
a. EXPORT FROM THE UNITED STATES:  Description of commodities shall be
   uniform on all copies of the B/L and MUST be in conformity with a
   validated U.S. Export Declaration, EEI (Electronic Export Information)
   filings to the U.S. Customs Automated Export Systems (AES), and/or
   Consular Documents covering the shipment.  The Carrier may verify the
   B/L description with any of the above shipping documents or
   information to insure accuracy.  Amendments or corrections in the
   commodity description will be accepted ONLY if validated by U.S.Customs
   and in conformity will all other shipping documents.  If shipments are
   NOT covered by a Shipper's Export Declaration, as permitted by Export
   Control Regulations, Shippers MUST insert the applicable commodity
   Schedule B number in the Line Copy of the B/L.
  
b. IMPORT INTO THE UNITED STATES:  Description of commodities shall be
   uniform on all copies of the B/L and MUST be in conformity with Customs
   Declaration, AMS (Automated Manifest System) filing (see Rule 2.8A),
   Customs Entry and Consular Documents.  The Carrier may verify the B/L
   description with other shipping documents or information to insure
   accuracy.  Amendments or corrections in the commodity description will
   be accepted ONLY if supported by U.S. Customs Declaration, AMS Filing,
   Customs Entry, Consular Documents and other shipping documents.
  
c. Trade or Commercial Product names are NOT acceptable commodity
   descriptions.  Shippers are required to declare their commodities by
   their generally accepted generic or common name.
  
d. Unless otherwise specified, the value of cargo, which is to be rated in
   accordance with a specific value-scale provided in this Tariff, will be
   determined on the basis of the value and net weight as declared in a
   validated U.S. Export Declaration, Customs Declaration, Customs Entry
   and/or Consular Documents.  Where there is a discrepancy between such
   documents, the highest declaration shall be used to calculate freight
   and additional charges.
  
e. B/L PROCESSING FEE:
   Carrier will assess the Bill of Lading Processing Fee named below, for
   handling, processing and forwarding B/Ls issued to cover shipments
   moving under the Rules, Charges and Rates named in this Tariff From/To
   Panama on shipments moving on Rates SBJ to this Rule:
  
     On FCL Cargo Shipments:  USD 125.00 per B/L
     On LCL Cargo Shipments:  USD  75.00 per B/L
  
       EXCEPTIONS: NONE Current In Effect
  
f. At the specific request of Shipper or his agent, Carrier will prepare,
   complete, process or otherwise handle and dispose of the documentation
   named below in accordance with Shipper's instructions.  The fees for
   such preparation, completion and/or processing of documentation
   listed below will be as follows:
  
  1. IN-BOND SHIPMENTS:
     Service Charge for Preparing and/or Handling "In-Bond" Shipments
     (Shipments which contain any In-Bond cargo which documents must be
     validated at the Port:
  
    A. Preparation of Documentation for In-Bond Cargo:
         USD 145.00 per B/L
  
    B. Charge for Handling In-Bond Cargo (whether documentation was
          prepared by Carrier or not):
         USD  35.00 per B/L
   
  2. U.S. Customs Vehicle Title Validation Handling/Service Fee:
         USD 200.00 per Validation
  
g. HAZARDOUS CARGO DOCUMENTATION CHARGES (HAZ DOCF): Carrier will assess
   the Hazardous Cargo Documentation Charges named below, for preparing,
   handling, processing and/or forwarding all Documentation required by any
   governmental, Port or Customs agency when Hazardous Cargo as defined in
   Rule 16 is included in any shipment moving on the Rates and Provisions
   named in this Tariff Rate Section.

    A. Preparation of Documentation for Hazardous Cargo:
        USD 140.00 per B/L for the first (or only) Hazardous UN#
          PLUS USD 35.00 for each additional Hazardous UN# included in a
          shipment.
