If the shipper or a member of a shipper's association tendering the cargo is identified as an NVOCC, the carrier shall obtain documentation that the NVOCC has a tariff and a bond as required by sections 8 and 23 of the Shipping Act 1984, as amended by the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 1998, before the carrier accepts or transports cargo for the account of the NVOCC. A copy of a tariff rule published by the NVOCC and in effect, which shows the underwriter name and address and bond number as required under 46 CFR 515.21 will be accepted by the carrier as documenting the NVOCC's compliance with the tariff and bonding requirements of the act. Carrier will also accept a copy of the Ocean Transportation Intermediary Licence issued by the Federal Maritime Commission pursuant to 46 CFR 515 will also be accepted by the Carrier as documenting the NVOCC's compliance with the requirements of the Federal Maritime Commission requirements.
