A. Except as otherwise provided, rates, charges, rules and regulations contained herein apply From Japan Ports and Points To the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Ports in the Eastport, Maine/Brownsville, Texas Range, U.S. Pacific Coast Ports in the Bellingham, Washington/San Diego, California Range; Ports in *Hawaii and *Puerto Rico and U.S. Points listed below. All Points in the Following States: Alabama Louisiana Ohio Alaska Maine Oklahoma Arizona Maryland Oregon Arkansas Massachusetts Pennsylvania California Michigan Rhode Island Colorado Minnesota South Carolina Connecticut Mississippi South Dakota Delaware Missouri Tennessee District of Montana Texas Columbia Nebraska Utah Florida Nevada Vermont Georgia New Hampshire Virginia Idaho New Jersey Washington Illinois New Mexico West Virginia Indiana New York Wisconsin Iowa North Carolina Wyoming Kansas North Dakota Kentucky Note 1: Provisions To and From U.S. Interior Points will apply via all U.S. Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific Coast Ports. Specific interior points served will be shown in individual commodity items. * Rates to Hawaii and Puerto Rico apply only when specific reference is made thereto. B. Rates named herein, unless otherwise specified, apply FROM the following Base Ports/Points in Japan: Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka and Kobe. Outports Cargo in containers or to be containerized may be received at or delivered to Shimizu, Moji and Hakata, either direct or by transshipment, under rates of freight which shall be applied as set forth in this tariff as Outport arbitraries in Rule 10 and assessed as a charge over the base rates specified in this tariff. Interior Points This tariff also provides rates to and from interior points in Japan. Specific interior points served will be shown in individual commodity items. If no interior point is shown in a commodity item, the rate applies only from Ports in the applicable area. For the movement of cargo from Inland Points, MSC or the Ocean Carrier will arrange for transportation via over- land carrier. Foreign overland carriers will be utilized on an availability of service basis and not restricted to any preferred carriers, except as carrier deems necessary to guarantee safe and efficient movement of said cargo. Carrier shall not be obligated to transport the goods in any particular type of container or by any particular vessel, train, motor or air carrier or in time for any particular market or otherwise than with reasonable dispatch. Selection of water carriers, railway, motor or air carrier used for all or any portion of the transpor- tation of the goods shall be within the sole discretion of the carrier. C. Description of Services All Water (AW) : Utilizes an Ocean Carrier All-Water Service to U.S. Ports. Mini-Land Bridge (MLB): 1) Utilizes an Ocean Carrier's Service from a foreign origin to U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coast Ports via West Coast Ports via Rail or Motor. 2) Utilizes an Ocean Carrier's Service from a foreign origin to U.S. West Coast Ports, thence via MSC's or a Co-loader's service to Atlantic and Gulf Coast Ports via Rail or Motor. Micro-Bridge (IPI): 1) Utilizes an Ocean Carrier's Service from a foreign origin to a U.S Interior Point via a U.S. Port via Rail or Motor. 2) Utilizes an Ocean Carrier's Service from a foreign origin to a U.S. Port or Point, thence MSC's or a Co-loader's Service to a U.S. Interior Point via Rail or Motor.
