The application of Over Length cargo charges will be
governed by the following provisions and conditions:
a. CARGO TENDERED TO CARRIER IN/ON OCEAN CONTAINERS:
Cargo, subject to the rates, charges and provisions
named in any governed NSA, when tendered to Carrier already
loaded in/on ocean containers or transporting equipment
will NOT be subject to any Over Length Charges.
However, Carrier reserves the right to refuse to accept
any shipment loaded in/on a COL or SOL container that
contains pieces, packages or units which are not wholly
loaded within the inside of a single closed container
and/or which overhang any side of the Flatbed, or
Platform Container used to transport the cargo.
Further, unless prior booking and special arrangements
have been made with and accepted by the Carrier, Carrier
will NOT provide COL Flat Rack, Open Top or similar
equipment to handle cargo that cannot be loaded wholly
within the bounds of a single container, or accept such
cargo loaded in/on SOL equipment. Any fines or
penalties imposed as a result of the misapplication or
misstatement of actual cargo dimensions on the B/L
and/or other Shipping Documents will be for the account
of the cargo.
b. CARGO TENDERED TO CARRIER IN A BREAKBULK, LOOSE OR
UNCONTAINERIZED FORM:
Except as otherwise provided in individual NSAs, cargo, subject
to the rates, charges and provisions named in any governed NSA,
when tendered to Carrier in a breakbulk, loose or
uncontainerized form will NOT be subject to any Over Length
Charges and will be accepted without special arrangement
PROVIDED each individual piece, package or unit in the
shipment can be loaded within the inside of a single
closed container and/or does NOT equal or exceed 4
meters in length (or such other length limit provided in
an individual NSA). Shipments containing individual
pieces, packages or units which cannot be loaded wholly
within the inside of a single closed container and/or
which exceed the dimensions listed above, will be
accepted by the Carrier for transportation ONLY after
special arrangement and prior booking, and will be SBJ
to any applicable Over Length Charges, when, because of
the length of the cargo either: 1) dead space occurs
in the container; OR 2) Carrier must change container
size in order to accomodate length of cargo. Extra
Length charge shall be in addition to all other
applicable charges. Shipper MUST provide a complete
description, including gross length, of any article
equaling or exceeding 4 meters long at the time cargo is
booked with Carrier.
c. OVER LENGTH CHARGES:
Any Over Length Charges to apply will be as provided in
an individual NSA.
NOTE: Shipments containing individual pieces, packages
or units which exceed 11 Meters in length will be
accepted ONLY after special arrangements have been
made with Carrier. Any charges to apply will be as
provided in a governed NSA.
