RULE: 2.29 - PRORATING FCL RATES TO COVER MULTIPLE B/LS Eff: 08FEB2022

Effective 08FEB2022
Filed 08FEB2022
Filing Codes IC

When multiple prepaid shipments, moving on separate B/Ls, received from one
Shipper or multiple collect shipments, moving on separate B/Ls, destined to
a single Consignee, are transported from a single origin to a single
destination in a single ocean container, and an applicable full
containerload rate is published in an NRA, or on a Web Rate Page in a Tariff
governed by this Tariff, on the cargo loaded therein from such origin to
such destination, the freight charges for each shipment in such a container
will be a prorated portion of the full containerload rate, subject to the
following provisions:

a. All freight charges for each shipment in the container must be paid by a
single party (Shipper in the case of prepaid shipments or Consignee in
the case of collect shipments). Prepaid and collect shipments may NOT
be mixed in a single container.

b. The applicable rate for each shipment in the container will be
   calculated as follows:

  1. Determine the total freight charges (basic freight plus all assessorial
charges) applicable for the FCL container movement.

  2. Determine each shipment's prorated revenue ton portion of the total
weight or measurement of the entire containerload (i.e. if the total
containerload is 25 cbm and one shipment is 5 cbm, that shipment's
prorated portion is 20% [twenty percent] of the shipment), rounded to
the nearest hundredth of a percent. Unless the applicable FCL
containerload rate is stated on a weight basis (subject to a minimum
quantity), proration calculations shall be made on the basis of cubic
measurement. Any containerload received by Carrier without a
declaration of weight and measurement for each individual shipment will
be weighed or measured unless a method of conversion is provided by
     Shipper.

  3. Multiply the applicable total freight charges determined in paragraph
b.1. above by each shipment's prorated portion as determined in
paragraph b.2. above. Fractions of a cent will be disposed of as
follows: fractions of less than 1/2 cent will be dropped and fractions
of 1/2 cent or more will be increased to the next whole cent.

  4. Add all the prorated portions together. If the total exceeds (because
of rounding) the total freight charges determined in paragraph b.1.
above, subtract the overage amount from the freight charges applicable
to the smallest shipment in the containerload. If the total is less
(because of rounding) than the total freight charges determined in
paragraph b.1. above, add the deficit amount to the freight charges
applicable to the largest shipment in the containerload.

  5. EXAMPLE:
Applicable Lumpsum PC Rate Is = $ 4000.00
       Applicable BAF Charges Is = $ 400.00
       Total Freight Charges Are = $ 4400.00
Total Measurement Of Cargo In Container Is = 30 cbm
