RateWave Tariff Services, Inc., is the result of the merger of two
well-established companies serving the regulated ocean shipping industry:
TransAmericas T.I.S., Inc. and EDItran, Inc.
RateWave combines TransAmerica's proven regulatory expertise and tariff
publishing excellence with EDItran's EDI software development and
communications ability. This combination of regulatory expertise with
information technology capabilities enables RateWave to insure that all
its clients are in full compliance with the Ocean Shipping Reform
Act of 1998 (OSRA).
In early 1999, EDItran and TransAmericas combined because of the tremendous
opportunity presented by the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 1998. Early on, we
recognized that IT expertise or regulatory expertise alone is not enough.
Carriers and Shippers demand instant access to rate data and integration
into booking and tracking systems. They also require regulatory knowledge
and experience.
