RULE: 2.11 - ADV - ADVANCED CHARGES RULE & CHARGES (With EXCEPT) Eff: 27OCT2023

Except as otherwise provided herein, upon the request of the Shipper,
Consignee, Beneficial cargo Owner, or their agent, Carrier will advance the
lawful charges described below for collection with Carrier's freight and
related assessorial charges (See Notes 1 and 2).  All advanced charges will
be entered on the B/L, Shipping Orders/Instructions or Carrier's Invoice in
such a manner as to accurately describe exact character and method of
calculation.  Carrier will advance charges as presented and will NOT assume
liability for the accuracy thereof.  All advanced charges shall be and will
remain the sole and joint responsibility of Shipper and/or Consignee, and
other parties constituting "Merchant" under the applicable Bill of Lading.
  
Carrier will ADVANCE (provided such advanced charges do not in any way
relate to any part of the cost of the cargo or the ocean freight, except as
as provided in Paragraph f. below):
     
a. drayage charges of U.S. or foreign motor, rail, water, or air carriers
   for transportation service between Carrier's Terminal, Freight Station
   or rail ramp, on the one hand, and on the other Shipper's, Consignee's,
   Beneficial cargo Owner's or their agent's premises; and/or
        
b. cartage charges for transportation between rail ramps, docks, piers,
   warehouses, terminals or other Transportation interchange facilities;
   and/or
   
c. Brokerage, Customs' Service Fees, Forwarders' Fees, Customs House
   Brokers' charges or other third party charges assessed against the
   shipment; and/or
        
d. charges for storage, packing/unpacking or loading/unloading of cargo
   when such charges are NOT included in the rates or charges named in this
   Tariff; and/or
   
e. Forwarder's Advances on U.S. Export Cargo: i.e. costs and charges
   advanced by an Ocean Freight Forwarder listed on the Carrier's B/L for
   collection from the Consignee. Forwarder's advances will be accepted at
   Carrier's option ONLY.  When Carrier undertakes to collect Forwarder's
   Advances from the Consignee, Carrier's sole responsibility will be to
   make demand for payment from Consignee and to remit to Forwarder all
   sums collected.  Forwarder's Advances may cover only the costs incurred
   by Forwarder for the benefit of the Shipper, Consignee or cargo, and,
   may NOT relate in any part to the purchase price of the cargo and/or
   ocean freight (Except as provided in paragraph f. below).  Carrier will
   not assume any liability or responsibility to Forwarder if Consignee
   fails or refuses to pay such sums.
   
   EFFECTIVE 15 May 2022
f. Carrier will advance for collection with the payment of UPS' freight and
   Tariff charges, SBJ to the Advanced Disbursement Fee named herein, any
   and all Container Per Diem, Demurrage or Detention charges and/or Driver
   or Truck Detention charges that must be passed thru to the party
   responsible for the payment of freight and charges:
  
     Advanced Disbursement Fee:  5% (five percent of the amount advanced)
                                   SBJ to a M/C of USD50.00 per billing
                                   (See NOTE 3).
  
 NOTE 1:  Charges advanced under this Rule may NOT include
  the invoice value of the cargo transported, C.O.D. or
  Order B/L charges, import/export Taxes/Duties or fines
  and penalties imposed by any governmental authority.
        
 NOTE 2:  The Carrier reserves the right to decline to
  advance any or all charges referred to in this Rule if
  the cargo would not, at forced sale, realize the total
  freight and charges due plus costs of sale.
  
 NOTE 3: Advanced Disbursement Fee is waived for all shipments moving on
          NSA 1396 through 30 April 2025.
