A number of Port Authorities and Terminal Operators utilize Container
or Vehicle Booking Systems (VBS) to manage the flow of containers into
and out of their Port Container Facilities. When Carrier is required to
comply with the requirements of a VBS System in order to tender a
container to the underlying VOCC at an origin Port, or to collect a
container from the underlying VOCC at a destination port, Carrier
will meet and fulfill such requirements as part of the transportation
service provided to Shipper and Consignee. However, any charge
assessed by the Port Authority, Terminal Operator or their agents in
order to comply with the VBS will be for the account of the cargo and
will be advanced for payment, SBJ to the provisions of Rule 2.11
(Advance Charge Rule), AND/OR, Carrier will publish a charge to cover
such charges plus its handling expenses on the Web Rate Page (TLI)
making reference to this Rule, which charge shall be in addition to all
other applicable charges.
