RULE: 7 - PROVISIONS GOVERNING PAYMENT OF FREIGHT CHARGES - (collect)B/L Eff: 04APR2017

Freight charges, assessorial charges, surcharges or other charges named
in this Tariff Rate Section, including advanced charges MUST be prepaid
as specified herein unless prior arrangements to accept collect payment
have been concluded prior to commencement of transportation service and
then SBJ to the provisions of paragraph c. (see NOTE 1).  However,
regardless of whether the B/L payment status is prepaid or collect, the
Shipper, his duly authorized Freight Forwarder or agent, the Consignee
and/or the Beneficial Cargo Owner shall be, and will remain, jointly
and severally liable for all unpaid charges and freight, including but
not limited to, any sums advanced or disbursed by the Carrier for the
account of the cargo.
    
NOTE 1:  Shipments of the following commodities MUST always be PREPAID
 in all instances:  Household Goods; Personal Effects; Privately Owned
 Automobiles; Refused/Returned Shipments
    
a. All freight and additional charges named in this Tariff Rate Section,
   are due and considered earned upon receipt of the cargo by the
   originating Carrier, or his agent, and shall be paid to the Carrier
   without discount or deduction, whether the ship and/or cargo is lost
   or not lost, transportation is interrupted or abandoned, whether the
   cargo is damaged or ruined, or whether packages or containers are
   delivered empty or partly empty at destination.
    
b. PREPAID FREIGHT And PREPAYMENT OF FREIGHT - 
   When freight or other charges are prepaid, B/L will not be provided
   except upon actual payment of such freight or charges in U.S. Dollars
   or in foreign currency (SBJ to paragraph d. below).  Prepayment of
   freight or charges at destination MUST be made in full for the
   complete original B/L quantity prior to the release of any original
   ocean B/L by the Carrier to the Shipper or his duly authorized
   licensed Freight Forwarder or his agent.
     
c. COLLECT FREIGHT: 
  1. When freight or other charges are collect, all freight and charge
     amounts MUST be paid to the ocean Carrier prior to the release or
     delivery of cargo at discharge terminal or destination.
    
  2. In the event Consignee or his agent refuses to pay freight and/or
     and other applicable charges, and merchandise remains undeliverable
     thereby, Shipper guarantees and will remain liable for full payment
     of freight and other charges, together with any expense incurred
     while Carrier awaits instructions for the disposition of cargo.
      
  3. GUATEMALA: Collection Charges Fee:
{IA} EFFECTIVE 4 May 2017
     Collect Shipments to GUATEMALA will be SBJ to a Freight Charges
     Collection Fee of 3.5% (three and one-half percent) of the total
     of Freight, Surcharges and Origin Collect Charges, SBJ to a M/C of
     USD15.00 per Shipment, which charge shall be in addition to all
     other additional charges.
      
  4. HONDURAS: Collection Charges Fee:
     Collect Shipments to HONDURAS will be SBJ to a Freight Charges
     Collection Fee of 3% (three percent) of the total of Freight,
     Surcharges and Origin Collect Charges, which charge shall be in
     addition to all other additional charges.
      
d. Rates and charges named in this Tariff Rate Section are quoted in
   U.S. Currency except as specifically noted on individual Web Rate
   Pages (TLIs) and have been determined with due consideration to the
   relationship of U.S Currency to the other currencies involved,  In
   the event of any material deterioration in the exchange value of the
   U.S. or other Currency, Carrier reserves the right, upon lawful
   publication, to adjust the rates and charges named in this Tariff
   Rate Section to remove any adverse effect in conformity with the U.S.
   Shipping Act of 1984, as amended, and the regulations of the Federal
   Maritime Commission issued pursuant thereto.
     
e. When freight and other charges named in this Tariff Rate Section, are
   collected in a foreign country, Carrier will accept payment in a
   foreign currency provided it is freely convertible.  When payment is
   effected in other than U.S. Currency, currency conversion shall be
   calculated on the basis of the highest (numerical) Telegraphic
   Transfer Selling Rate of Exchange (TTS) in effect on the day the
   shipment is tendered to originating Carrier.
    
f. The payment status of a B/L may NOT be changed once transportation
   service of cargo has commenced (i.e. "prepaid" shipments cannot be
   changed to "collect" shipments and likewise "collect" shipments
   cannot be changed to "prepaid" shipments) without the express
   approval of the Carrier.
       
g. All Freight charges MUST be paid to the Carrier before release of the
   cargo, unless prior arrangements to the contrary have been made with
   the Carrier.  Regardless of any previous arrangements release of
   C.O.D. Shipments, as provided in Rule 2.14, will NOT permitted until
   all C.O.D. amounts have been paid in full.
